Liam has been a carpenter for over 15 years now, building everything from small decks through to entire house renovations.
When choosing the three key areas of carpentry he loved the most, decks was not even questionable as it has always been one of his favourite aspects of carpentry. Having completed over 40 decks over the years, he knows what makes a good design, and has an eye for details second to none. From running a string line out for every single screw line to ensure screw lines are dead straight, to our guarantee of only full boards for the entire deck, meaning no boards cut down on the end of the deck!
By far the most common material to use when building new decks, and for good reason too. It looks stunning, lasts for decades if well looked after, and extremely durable.
One of our favourite timbers is Spotted Gum. A deck built from spotted gum is also extremely long lasting, and looks different from the usual Merbau deck. A truly beautiful timber to add a different touch to your new deck.
With many benefits of composite decking, these are making a rise in the industry over the last decade. Not requiring maintenance every year, and keeping their color for many years, these are a great alternative to timber decks with many colours and styles available.
We complete all kinds of timber handrails and balustrades and have learnt some pretty nifty tricks over the years to make your balustrade tie in with your new deck nicely.
Staircases are one of those things you don't want to mess up as it can make your staircase uneven and unsafe. We love building staircases on the side of a new deck or replacing existing staircases, in fact it's one of our favourite things to do.
If your deck is looking a little tired and is in need of a good clean and re-stain, get in touch today. We regularly pressure wash existing decks and re-stain / oil.
